Age of Civilizations Wiki

Age of History II (AoH2, previously known as Age of Civilizations 2, or AoC2) is a turn-based grand strategy war game. The game features various differing mechanics that all come together to shape a specific outcome, and includes extra features for those who want to fiddle around with specific aspects of the game, such as a scenario creator, among other various options.

The game initially released on November 21st, 2018 (according to Google) and currently can be purchased on Android, iOS, and computer systems like Windows, the latter of which is done via Steam. A "lite" version is also available on Android and iOS.

In-game editor[]

Age of History II includes an in-game editor that allows the user to create scenarios, as well as edit pre-existing ones (like the World War II scenario). As well as including various options to modify scenarios, the game also freely allows users to create new countries, add in leaders, or, given a user has enough expertise, a full-on map.

  • This game's title was formerly Age of Civilizations II, however on November 3, 2020, the main developer, Lukasz Jakowski, unexpectedly "had to" (according to him) change the name of the game. The reasoning is unknown, however it may be copyright-related.
    • Technically, this game's new title is incorrect, as the previous game(s) in the series all, and to this day, continue to be called Age of Civilizations, and by renaming the game to "Age of History II", despite there having been no previous "Age of History" in the series, a sort-of error forms.
